Ovablastic is a work that consists, on the one hand, of the Fake News website ovablastic.com and, on the other hand, of a room installation that is situatively combined depending on the exhibition situation. The aim of the work is to counter the contemporary general consensus, that says that fake is a new phenomenon and also has to be combated. Both assumptions are wrong and the opposite is true. The explanation can be found in a video essay, which is part of each spatial installation.
On ovablastic.com, you can find fake news in an expanded sense that is created exclusively for the art scene. While in the category News shorter texts can be read, that relate to the current news situation in the art scene, in the category Presence longer articles or interviews can be found, each presenting an artist in its own environment. In the third category Review one finds reviews on certain artworks with a text length of 1000 words. These reviews were written on a textbroker website by an anonymous person who does not need to have any idea of art for $ 7.50. The resulting content is illustrated with 3D photorealistic renderings.
Parts of the first installation are a 6 x 9 meter printed carpet, Din A 3 posters for the large area of walls, four printed canvases in the format of 130 x 81.5 cm and a video essay on a 55 inch monitor and associated sound system.

Bei ovablastic handelt es sich um eine Arbeit, die einerseits aus der Fake News Website ovablastic.com und andererseits aus einer je nach Ausstellungssituation situativ zusammensetzten Rauminstallation besteht. Ziel der Arbeit ist es gegen den zeitgenössisch allgemeinen Konsens anzutreten, der besagt, dass es sich beim Fake um ein einerseits neuartiges und andererseits zu bekämpfendes Phänomen handele.
